Our firm actively involve in the corporate social responsibility by sponsoring activity to improve the social life of local community. The first step was by sponsoring 2 (two) participants from tondano (north sulawesi) to attend a short course in quiltmaking in jakarta. The quiltmaking course had been held by pidi foundation from the 2nd to 4th of august 2007. The quilt-making course was lectured by mrs.Yoshiko jinzenji from japan. We hope that the short course would encourage the participants to spread the ability of quilt-making to other community members in the area.

Our firm also involved in a short course in painting by sponsoring a well known painter from yogyakarta (central java), mr. Nanang who voluntarily taught young artists from tondano (north sulawesi) area to learn painting with oil and acrylic on canvas. The participants were learning to make the canvas from local textile and making acrylic paint from locally available paint. Mr. Nanang stayed in tondano (north sulawesi from the 14th to 21st of august 2007. The middle picture on the right was taken at rurukan village, on the hill where lake tondano and its village can be seen from above. The paintings were inspired by the cross on that hill and scenery around it.

As part of the painting activity, the participants went to bunaken, the world famous marine national park to get some new ideas to paint and picnic to celebrate the 62nd anniversary of indonesia’s independence. We hope that the short courses could encourage the creativity of the local community of tondano (north sulawesi).
