Panel Discussion of Strata Title “To What Extend Is Your Right Over An Apartment Unit Being Protected?”

I n line with the industrial and trade development in indonesia, especially in big cities such as jakarta, bandung, surabaya, and medan, has existed group of societies so called as “professional”. This group of “professional” usually have major role in various sector of life. As a professional, they tend to carry out their activities in big cities and therefore their favor is to live as much as possible nearby their office in the city. It seems that this has become a global phenomenon.

The reason is to save their time so they can juggling from one activity to the others as necessary to beMeanwhile, there are limited as well as pricey housing complex in big cities nowadays.

Therefore, the government with developers is working together to provide apartments which targeted for the professionals. Apartments seems to fit the need of the professional people since it provide all the facilities as required from safety, neatness, to comfy live style which suit with the professionals’ nature.

In indonesia, the apartment ownership is known with “strata title” concept. Strata title may define as rights over an apartment unit. However, there is misunderstanding in the society in interpreting an ownerships’ concept of strata title by comparing the ownerships’ concept as being regulated in indonesian agrarian principles of law, which generating many cases in the society concerning legality misunderstanding among developers, banks, and the apartments’ owner due to the lack of understanding in deciphering of strata title concept.

To provide legal answer to these problems, suria nataadmadja & associates proposes a panel discussion with theme “to what extend is your right over an apartment unit is being protected?”
