Part Time Worker

Basically in the Law of Indonesia Number 13 of Year 2003 concerning Manpower (Manpower Law), there was no specific provision concerning Part Time Work. However, practically there was a lot of students that utilize their spare time to apply on a part time job for their extra income. To understand deeper, first, we must understand the definition of work relationship itself.

Manpower Law define some terms related to manpower, first one is Employer. Employer is defined as individual person, businessman, legal entity, or the others entity that employ manpower by paying wages or reward in other forms. While Employee/laborer are any people that works by receiving wages or reward in other forms. So that employment are any kind of things that related to man power before, within, or after work period.

Part Time Work in fact may be define by its basic word, so that can be define as the work that does not complete the works hours of a full time job. Wherein, in the Manpower Law regulated that a work hours in a week shall not exceed 40 (forty) hours. Hence, if there is any works that is not reach 40 (forty) hours in a week shall be define as Part Time Work.
