THE HOLDER OF GENERAL IMPORTER IDENTIFICATION NUMBER (Angka Pengenal Importir – Umum – API-U) ARE CAPABLE OF RAW MATERIALS AND/OR SUPPORTING MATERIALS IMPORTATION
In order to fulfill industrial needs many business owners try to fulfill the material which is required for the industry during the process of production. Not every material is available domestically, considering some materials can only be found on other countries and it is important for Industries to stock the materials for the sake of production, and one of the process to obtain the materials is through importation. The Indonesian Government already committed to ease the Industry in Indonesia, as it is stipulated on Government Regulation Number 28 of 2021 concerning Implementation on Industrial Field (“GR 28/2021”) which amended by Government Regulation Number 46 of 2023 concerning the amendment on Government Regulation Number 28 of 2021 concerning Implementation on Industrial Field (“GR 46/2023”).
As stated on Article 6 of GR 28/2021, in order to ease the process of production and/or development of Industry, the Central Government and Local Government are giving ease to obtain raw materials and/or supporting materials. In order to ease the obtaining of raw materials and/or supporting materials, the central and/or local government are guaranteeing the availability of raw and/or supporting materials from domestic and/or overseas for Industrial Company. As stated on Article 7 of GR 28/2021, in order to guarantee the availability of raw and/or supporting materials then the Central Government could:
- Forbid or Restrict the Export of Raw and/or Supporting Materials; and
- Giving ease of Import of Raw and/or Supporting Materials.
One of the newest regulation amendment of GR 28/2021 by the GR 46/2023 are the Importation of Raw and/or Supporting materials, the difference can be seen from Article 19-20, which can be seen from below table:
